Painting with Fabric Dye: An Intro
In this workshop we will be creating a series of small (roughly 12″x24″) paintings on white cotton using Jacquard Procion MX fiber dye. We will go over a few simple techniques before beginning with hands on experimentation and finishing with observational painting of fresh spring flowers. Jenny will bring in a handful of options to paint from. You are welcome to paint as realistically or unrealistically as you want, or even paint from a subject of your choosing. The flowers will be a fun and helpful guide for us to apply techniques and create a finished product. The goal of this workshop is to try a new medium, explore new techniques, and have fun!
Things to bring:
Clothes that can get messy
Any additional subject you might want to paint (a sketch, or object)
Sketchbook and pencils for any pre-drawing you may want to do
